The unusually warm temperatures have been great for the construction projects around town, including the new $43 million College of Architecture Building at Kent State University.
The cooperative weather has allowed construction crews to stay on the job site and complete a lot of temperature sensitive work that would normally have to wait until the spring thaw.
Not this year, thank you Senior El-Nino.
The unique and dramatic elements of the new Architecture building are really starting to take shape.
Enormous glass exterior walls and intentionally asymmetric angular roof lines makes the kind of impactful statement that I think the architects were hoping for.
The College of Architecture is one of Kent State’s premier programs and they are well on their way to having a landmark building that lives up to that reputation.
The new building is a visible reminder for how far the town-gown connections have come, with arguably the most impressive building on campus located within a couple hundred yards of downtown Kent.
It’s exciting to the pieces of downtown coming together.
