If you can’t get the museum, no worries, the museum will bring the art to you — or at least to your hometown.
That’s the theory behind the Akron Museum’s latest public art program which popped up last week in downtown Kent and the KSU campus.
Working in conjunction with the Akron Art Museum, Main Street Kent was successful getting Kent accepted into the rotating public art program that the Akron Art Museum operates around northeast Ohio.
The program is called “Inside Out” because it takes replicas of famous inside art and puts it outside for people to see. https://akronartmuseum.org/inside-out/
I noticed last week that the first pieces of art work were being installed at Riveredge Park and in front of the Kent Stage. I’m told there will be 6 pieces in Kent, and another 4 on the Kent State campus, and they’ll be in place to engage with and enjoy for 3 months.
GotArt? Downtown Kent does, and we’re happy to share.
