The 4th annual Walk For Babies Event is scheduled for September 19th at the Akron Zoo. Why would I be blogging about an Akron based event? Because sometimes Kent’s newest family members need emergency medical care and the Akron Children’s Hospital is a mere 10 miles down the road ready to serve.
I know this because of a Kent family that I know nearly lost a new-born but thanks to the professional care provided at Akron Children’s Hospital their child is a happy 4 year old. That Kent family was so grateful that they sprearheaded the first annual Walk for Babies Event which is also now 4 years old and growing strong — just like their child.
With the hospitals in Akron, Portage and Cleveland’s Case Western, one of the benefits of living in Kent is the first rate medical care that you have access to. That is actually a very important consideration not just for retirees but even young families as the Walk for Babies Event highlights.
It’s tough to advertise all the different fund raisers that are planned each year, but the Kent connection to the Walk for Babies Event was too strong to pass up.
