Virtual Kent City Council Meetings
Governor Mike DeWine announced that Ohio’s Stay at Home order has been extended until 11:59 p.m. on May 29, 2020. In order to continue to conduct business the City of Kent will hold Council meetings, while following guidance provided by the passing of House Bill 197. These meetings will be held virtually and live-streamed on the City of Kent’s YouTube page for public viewing. Public comment will be collected by the Clerk of Council prior to each meeting for inclusion into the record.
HB 197 waives the requirement of council members to meet in person in the same location and allows the meeting to occur using video conference methods. There will be no physical location for the meeting. City Council, Mayor, staff and presenters will be participating from their individual locations electronically.
