Media coverage can be a double-edged sword, as fast as it builds you up it can cut you down — so I generally prefer to lay low as a community, subscribing to the theory that no news is good news.
That being said, if someone wants to report positive news about our hometown I’m certainly appreciative and happy to pass it along. The most recent coverage was over the air waves last week when Channel 5 News in Cleveland paid a visit to Kent to feature our “rising college town” and announce the grand opening of the Esplanade.
Here’s the link to the Channel 5 story that aired last Friday October 4th: Pathway that connects Kent State University to downtown Kent is latest road to economic boom
Plus, KSU TV2 provided news coverage of the dedication ceremony for the esplanade on Friday which can viewed at this link.
And Kent Wired’s coverage included a video story that is found at this link.
Oh yea, Kent was also featured by WKYC Channel 3 News out of Cleveland a couple of weeks ago in a story titled: Kent, Kent State University Partnership
The favorable coverage is great for the community. We could never afford this level of advertising so we’re very grateful for it.
