This Saturday night downtown Kent will put on it’s best attire to welcome the Robinson Memorial Hospital Gala to town.
This is a big deal. The Gala is THE black-tie event of Portage County and the fact that they wanted to move it from Aurora to downtown Kent says a lot about how far downtown Kent has come.
We’re extremely grateful to the event sponsors who were willing to take a shot at showcasing downtown Kent. 500 people in evening gowns and tuxedo’s is not the normal customer base you see on Saturday night in downtown Kent and this promises to be something special.
This is a great opportunity to show off the best of downtown Kent and create another 500 new loyal Kent customers. There’s been little that has been easy in planning an event of this magnitude and arranging all of the logistics to support such a grand occasion but it’s worth every minute.
So if your entertainment plans include Saturday night in downtown Kent be prepared for a whole new level of people watching. And as our Community Development Director points out in her note to the existing businesses downtown (see below), expect some road closures and traffic re-routing for all that valet parking.
